Overview

Cowans’ May 4th, 2023 online auction presents a fine collection of mint condition sporting handguns, rifles, and shotguns from manufacturers like Les Baer and Freedom Arms. Also featured is a variety of Asian, African, and European edged weapons from the 19th and 20th centuries. For the WWII collector, this sale offers a large collection of uniforms, helmets, ordnance, and ephemera. The highlights of the sale are the rare and long discontinued boxes of proprietary ammunition. A few of these ammo boxes have not been available for decades, and nearly a century for others. They include full boxes of Bergmann ammunition in four different calibers, two boxes of Winchester .44/100, and WWII-era Japanese ammo in .32 ACP and 8mm Nambu.

Special Collections items are available for absentee bidding only. You can browse the catalog and place bids at any time.

Absentee Bidding
This platform operates using the “proxibid” method – you may place a high bid and the system will bid on your behalf up to that limit.

5-Minute Closing Rule
Starting at 12:00 PM (Noon) on the Final Date, all lots will close starting with lot #1. There will be a 1 minute period between each item until all items close.

Extended Bidding
Any bids placed within 5 minutes of the closing time will extend bidding by another 15 minutes. This rule will apply continuously until no bids are placed within the 5 minute period.

Email Notification
You will receive an email notification:
-each time you place a bid
-when you are outbid on any lot
-at the close of the auction if you are the high bidder

End of the Auction
