5/25/2021 – Arms and Armor

7.63mm, 5.5″ barrel,  S/N 33508. Blued finish, bright bolt, niter blued small parts and strawed trigger, 33-groove hardwood grips. 1,000 meter tangent rear sight, slotted for shoulder stock. {CROWN}/U on left of chamber and illegible character on right of chamber, Gothic M on backstrap. Standard wartime commercial markings, large ring hammer, matching full or partial serial number on chamber, backstrap, lock frame, hammer, bolt, magazine floor plate and in grips. The pistol is accompanied by a Mauser banner marked holster stock that is not numbered, but bears a WWII period Luftwaffe inspection of {Eagle}/Ka/30 under the Mauser logo. This marks appears to be completely authentic and is worth additional research, as it may have been delivered to the Luftwaffe with an order of about 7,800 C96s purchased early in WWII by the Luftwaffe from remaining stocks of late 1930s commercial guns.
